During his torture Lorenzo cried out "This side’s done, turn me over and have a bite". This is the legend often quoted explaining why San Lorenzo is the Patron Saint of comedians, butchers and roasters.

It has been suggested that Dickman was also guilty of two previous murders, of Caroline Mary Luard at Ightham, Kent in 1908 and Hermann Cohen in Sunderland in 1909.

Dunne shot dead Field Marshal Sir Henry Wilson on his doorstep at 36 Eaton Place in London on 22 June 1922 along with fellow IRA volunteer Joseph O'Sullivan.

Leno was stabbed 26 times and the word "WAR" was carved into his abdomen. His 38-year-old wife Rosemary LaBianca was stabbed 41 times. The perpetrators were Charles Manson, Tex Watson, Leslie Van Houten and Patricia Krenwinkel. Krenwinkel wrote "Rise" and "Death to pigs" on the walls and "Healter Skelter" on the refrigerator door.

Hunley's body was found five weeks later in Shelbourne County, her skull imploded by blows to the head. It was determined that she had been raped with a tree branch.

In two separate trials Sterling pled guilty to the 1988 murders of William and Leroy Porter, and was sentenced to life in prison in both cases. Sterling's last meal request was for chicken fried steak, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, French fries, pecan pie, sweet tea and a vanilla milkshake.

Suicide pilot Richard Rick Russell aka Beeboo commits suicide by an airplane crash at the age of 29 in Ketron Island, Washington, United States.

Russell stole a Horizon Air Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 aircraft from Seattle–Tacoma International Airport and made a barrel roll over Puget Sound amongst other maneuvers before fatally crashing. In a recorded conversation with Air Control Russel talked about himself as "Just a broken guy, got a few screws loose, I guess."
