    Apart from von Stauffenberg, his aide 1st Lieutenant Werner von Haeften, General Friedrich Olbricht and Colonel Albrecht Mertz von Quirnheim were also executed in the courtyard of the Bendlerblock, which was lit by the headlights of a truck.
