Mansfield, her 40-year-old lover Sam Brody, their 20-year-old driver Ronnie Harrison, and three of her children - 8-year-old Miklós Jeffrey Palmer Hargitay, 6-year-old Zoltán Anthony Hargitay and 3-year-old Mariska Magdalena Hargitay were heading for New Orleans where she was scheduled to appear for an early-morning television interview. The 1966 Buick Electra 225, which was reportedly going 80 miles per hour, crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer that had slowed down because of a truck spraying mosquito fogger. The three adults in the front seat were killed instantly; the children in the rear survived with minor injuries.

Kravchenko was sentenced to death for the murder of 10-year-old Yelena Zakotnova on 22 December 1978, who was actually killed by Andrei Chikatilo aka The Rostow Ripper as his first victim.

Tuesday 7th of August 1984 (-) — Victim of Andrei Chikatilo aka The Rostov Ripper Lyudmila Alekseyeva is stabbed to death by Andrei Chikatilo aka The Rostov Ripper
Alekseyeva suffered 39 slash wounds to her body before Chikatilo mutilated and disemboweled her, intentionally inflicting wounds he knew would not be immediately fatal.
Thursday 13th of September 1984 (x) — Serial killer Andrei Chikatilo is arrested and charged with theft
At the trial three weeks later Chikatilo was released due to lack of evidence.
