Gooch was the first and only person hanged for a non-murdering kidnapping under the Lindbergh Law. Oklahoma’s executioner Richard Earnest Owen was an old hand with his state’s electric chair, but the federal execution method was hanging, which Owen had never before performed (and never would again). Gooch took 15 minutes to strangle at the end of the rope for an audience of about 300.

Tuesday 6th of November 1990 (-) — Victim of Andrei Chikatilo aka The Rostov Ripper Svetlana Korostik is beaten and stabbed to death by Andrei Chikatilo aka The Rostov Ripper.
Chikatilo removed the tip of Korostik's tongue and nipples and ate them at the scene before he covered her naked body with leaves. Korostik was Chikatilo's 53rd and last victim, he was arrested on 20 November 1990 because a policeman had noticed Chikatilo approach a well and wash his face after he left the scene of the murder.
Wednesday 4th of April 1990 (-) — Victim of Andrei Chikatilo aka The Rostov Ripper Lyubov Zuyeva is stabbed to death by Andrei Chikatilo aka The Rostov Ripper.
Zuyeva encountered Chikatilo while travelling from Novocherkassk to Shakhty. Zuyeva's skeletonized body was found in woodland close to Donleskhoz station on 24 August.
