The lynch mob forced their way through steel doors into White’s prison cell, took him to a field near the scene of the crime, lit a pyre of straw and fence posts smashed into kindling, coiled ropes around the man and threw him into the fire. White twice freed himself only to be thrown back into the flames as thousands of all ages watched and some cheered.

Innocent murderer Aleksandr Kravchenko is executed by the firing squad at the age of 29 in Rostov, Rostov Oblast, Russia. Kravchenko was sentenced to death for the murder of 10-year-old Yelena Zakotnova on 22 December 1978, who was actually killed by Andrei Chikatilo aka The Rostow Ripper as his first victim. |
