McAfee was arrested in Spain over tax evasion charges on 6 October 2020. The charges were announced shortly after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission revealed that it had brought civil charges against McAfee and that he could face 30 years in prison if convicted in the criminal matter.

Roxanne Easlund is presumably abducted and killed by serial killer Robert Hansen aka The Aviation Hunter at the age of 24 in 4th Avenue, Anchorage, Alaska, United States.

Easlund's body was never found.
