Lisenba killed his wife Mary Busch by sticking her leg in a box with two rattlesnakes. Busch didn't die from the poison so Lisenba drowned her. Lisenba was the last man to be executed by hanging in San Quentin. The rope was the wrong length and it took over ten minutes for Rattlesnake James to die. (1 May 1942)

Sunday 3rd of September 1939 (x) — Aristocratic socialite and devotee of Adolf Hitler Unity Mitford attempts to commit suicide by a shot in the head when she hears her lover declare war to the United Kingdom. Surviving the suicide attempt Mitford was hospitalised in München where she was visited by Hitler despite the on-going war. Hitler paid her bills and arranged for Mitford's return home.
