George V's physician Lord Dawson of Penn hastened the King's death by injecting him with two consecutive lethal injections: 3/4 gr. morphine followed by 1 gr. cocaine shortly afterwards. The King's last mumbled words "God damn you!" were addressed to his nurse Catherine Black when she gave him a sedative. (20 January 1936)

Sunday 26th of March 1944 (-) — Black reverend Isaac Simmons is lynched by six white men. The men shot Simmons three times, cut out his tongue and told his son he had ten days to abandon the family property. The killers took possession of the land and an all-white jury later acquitted the only one of the six men to face trial for the murder.
