Tuesday 1st of September 1987 (x) — Vietnam veteran and peace activist Brian Willson is hit by a train while engaged in a railroad tracks blocking protest with members of a Veterans Peace Action Team against the shipping of U.S. weapons to Central America.
An approaching train did not stop and struck the protesting veterans. Willson was hit and lost both legs below the knee while suffering a severe skull fracture with loss of his right frontal lobe.
