'On 17 March 1853 Christian Andreas Doppler died of a pulmonary embolism at the age of 50 in Venezia, Veneto, Italy. He was known for the Doppler Effect, the effect that produces a change in frequency or wavelength of a wave or other periodic event for an observer moving relative to its source or vice versa.
164 years later on this day I lay on the floor while a shortwave radio was tied to a rotating device, circling it to and from my head whereby there was a change in frequency and wavelength of the static noise on the radio.
