Monday 22nd of February 1915 (x) — The right leg of Actress Sarah Bernhardt is amputated because of gangrene due to an accident in 1905.
Bernhardt reportedly refused a $10.000 offer by a showman to display her amputated leg as a medical curiosity. In December 2008 the leg was found in the basement of the Faculty of Medicine in Bordeaux.
