Davis' last meal request was for ice cream. Shortly before his execution Davis also requested a cigarette – as a smoking ban was in place in Colorado prisons his request was denied. Davis was the only person to date to have been subject to the death penalty in Colorado since its reinstatement in 1977.

Monday 26th of September 1983 (-) — Mystery writer Muriel Davidson is shot dead by 51-year-old alcoholic Robert Thom.
Davidson met Thom at a hospital where she counseled alcoholics once a week. A police report called the two quite close. A county probation officer said that just prior to her murder Davidson had tried to sever her sporadic sexual relationship with Thom. Thom pleaded no contest to second-degree murder and was given a sentence of 17 years to life.
