		Aviation pioneer Otto Lilienthal aka The Glider King 23 May 1848 (+) is born in Anklam, Germany. 10 August 1896 (-) dies of a fracture of the third cervical vertebra and a hemorrhage after falling the day before from a height of about 15 metres while still in his glider in Berlin, Germany.
