 Churchman, Anglican Bishop, Protestant reformer and martyr John Hooper aka Johan Hoperis is executed by burning at the stake at the age of 60 in Gloucester, Gloucestershire, United Kingdom.  Hooper was condemned for heresy by Bishop Gardiner and degraded by Bishop Bonner on 29 January 1555. |
