Luchessa was abducted with her 18-year-old roommate Mary Anne Pesce. Kemper beheaded Luchessa's and Pesce’s body and kept the heads for a while, eventually disposing them in a ravine. Pesce was found and identified, nothing of Luchessa was ever found.

43-year-old heart patient Arne Larsson receives the first pacemaker implanted by cardiac surgeon Åke Senning in Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset, Stockholm, Södermanland, Sweden. Larsson lived for another forty-three years and during that time went through twenty-six pacemakers. The first device lasted only a few hours.
