Ohnesorg was killed by plain-clothes police officer Karl-Heinz Kurras, who was an undercover agent of the East German secret police Stasi, during a protest meeting against a visit of the Sjah of Iran. His death would spark off the rise of the Baader-Meinhof-Gruppe, and its allies Bewegung 2. Juni.

Barbara Anne Bauer is abducted, asphyxiated and beaten to death by serial killer Gerald Stano aka Blind Fury at the age of 17 in Holly Hill Plaza, 816 N Nova Rd, Daytona Beach, Florida, United States.

In April 1974 a couple in Starke, Florida discovered Bauer's skull in the woods near their home.
