While singing his most famous song 'Tiptoe Through the Tulips' at a Gala Benefit at The Woman's Club of Minneapolis Tim suffered a heart attack on stage. He was led out by his wife Susan Marie Gardner who asked him if he was okay. Tim responded, "No, I'm not!" Those were to be his final words. Tim collapsed shortly thereafter and was rushed to the hospital where he died after doctors tried to resuscitate him for one hour and fifteen minutes.

61-year-old double murderer John Cavaness aka Doc is sentenced to death for the murder of his 22 year old son Sean on 13 December 1984 in a scheme to collect $148,000 in insurance benefits in St. Louis County Circuit Court, 7900 Carondelet Avenue, Clayton, Missouri, United States. He also killed his 22 year old son Mark Dale on 7 April 1977. At the time Cavaness collected $40,000 on an insurance policy on Mark`s life.
