United Airlines Flight 175 departed Logan Airport at 8:14 a.m. en route to Los Angeles with a crew of nine and 51 passengers, not including five hijackers. The hijackers flew the plane into the southern facade of the South Tower at 9:03 a.m. The four other hijackers were 24-year-old Fayez Banihammad, 22-year-old Mohand al-Shehri, 20-year-old Hamza al-Ghamdi and 22-year-old Ahmed al-Ghamdi.

23-year-old serial killer David Berkowitz, originally Richard David Falco aka Son of Sam presumably throws a Molotov cocktail into the house of his neighbour Sam Carr in 35 Pine Street, Yonkers, New York, United States. Berkowitz tried to kill the demon lurking in Harvey with the Molotov cocktail but it fizzled.
