Stevenson was dragged from her house, raped and lynched because her son was suspected of the arson of Gabe Frank’s barn. The gruesomely scene was witnessed by thousands and thousands of passengers who traveled in and out of the city the next morning. Stevenson's body was left hanging until Friday morning.

An unidentified woman is stabbed to death by serial killer Andrei Chikatilo aka The Rostov Ripper in Krasny Sulin, Rostov Oblast, Russia.

Her body was found on 6 April in the grounds of a metals factory near the railway station.
