The victims were his 30-year-old wife Julie Schnick, his 35-year-old brother-in-law Steve Buckner, his 36-year-old sister-in-law Jeannette and their sons 14-year-old Kirk, 8-year-old Dennis, 6-year-old Timmy and 2-year-old Michael. Schnick tried to blame Kirk Buckner for the murders but placed the gun in Kirk's right hand while he was left-handed.

Singer-songwriter Jim James Travis Reeves dies in a Beechcraft Debonair aircraft crash at the age of 41 in Baxter Lane and Franklin Pike Circle, Brentwood, Tennessee, United States. Reeves was disoriented by 'Pilot's Vertigo' and actually flying upside down when he tried to take the plane up to avoid a thunderstorm. Instead the plane plunged with its nose into a tree. Reeves' 30-year-old business partner and manager Dean Manuel also died in the crash.
