Double murderer Carl Otto Wanderer is executed by hanging at the age of 26 in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Wanderer sang 'Dear Old Pal O' Mine' before being hanged, causing the hangman to remark, "That son-of-a-bitch should have been a song plugger."
