During a scuffle in front of the stage Hunter took s long-barreled black .22 caliber revolver from his jacket and pointed it in the air. Passaro stabbed Hunter five times in the upper back. Witnesses also reported Hunter was stomped on by several Hells Angels while he was on the ground.

Murderer Walter Bernhard LaGrand is executed by the gas chamber at the age of 37 in Arizona State Prison Complex, 1305 E Butte Avenue, Florence, Arizona, United States. LaGrand's last meal request was for six fried eggs, cooked over-easy, 16 strips of bacon, one large portion of hash-browns, one pint of pineapple sherbet ice cream, one 'breakfast steak' well done. One 16 ounce cup filled with ice, one 7UP, 1 Dr. Pepper, 1 Coke, one portion of hot sauce, one cup of coffee, two packets of sugar and four Rolaids tablets.
