Food was often placed near MacSwiney to persuade him to give up the hunger-strike. Attempts at force-feeding MacSwiney were undertaken in the final days of his strike. On 20 October he fell into a coma. His body lay in St George's Cathedral where 30.000 people filed past it.

41-year-old performance artist Danny Devos aka DDV performs 'Thai Boy Slim Foodstall' in Factor 44, Bleekhofstraat 44, Borgerhout, Antwerpen, Antwerpen, Belgium. During a documentary evening about the adventures of the Factor 44 artists in Bangkok I serviced a wayward version of my favourite Thai Foodstall in Taling Chan.
