Emperor of Ethiopia Haile Selassie born as Lij Tafari Makonnen Woldemikael aka The Lion of Juda is strangled in his bed by military officers at the age of 83 in Jubilee Palace, Addis Ababa, , Ethiopia. The state media reported that Selassie had died of 'respiratory failure' following complications from a prostate examination followed up by a prostate operation.
