Urban planner and pioneer of modern architecture Le Corbusier born as Charles-Édouard Jeanneret-Gris dies of a heart attack at the age of 79 in Le Cabanon, Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, Alpes-Maritimes, France. Against his doctor's orders Le Corbusier went swimming in the Mediterranean Sea and was found by bathers.
