On his deathbed, suffering from laryngeal cancer and unable to speak, Huxley made a written request to his wife Laura for "LSD, 100 µg, intramuscular". According to her account of his death in 'This Timeless Moment', she obliged with an injection at 11:45 am and a second dose a few hours later. Huxley died at 5:20 pm.

52-year-old political theorist and communist revolutionary Vladimir Lenin, originally Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov suffers the first of three strokes, which left him unable to speak for weeks, and severely hampered motion in his right side in St. Petersburg, Northwestern Federal District, Russia.
