Warner blew himself to pieces in his Thor Motor Coach Chateau recreational vehicle, injuring eight people and damaging dozens of buildings. A broadcast from loudspeakers on the vehicle warned that there was a bomb inside and played snippets from the 1964 song 'Downtown' by Petula Clark. Prior to the explosion a 15-minute countdown was broadcast.
