According to claims disputed by Consolidated Edison, Metesky's accident led to pneumonia that in turn developed into tuberculosis. A claim for workers' compensation was denied because he waited too long to file it. Three appeals of the denial were also rejected, the last in 1936. Metesky developed a hatred for the company's attorneys and for the three co-workers whose testimony in his compensation case he believed was perjured in favor of the company. Between 1940 and 1956 Metesky planted at least 33 bombs, of which 22 exploded.

 White Power punk rocker Ian Stuart Donaldson dies in hospital from injuries suffered in a car crash the day before at the age of 36 in Toyota Island, Walton-on-Trent, Derbyshire, United Kingdom. 23-year-old Skrewdriver band member Stephen Flint died on arrival. According to some sources Donaldson's car crash bore all the hallmarks of a Mossad operation. There was a nail in the rear tyre of his vehicle causing a slow leakage of air and the front shock absorber was also leaking. |
