According to one story while Pope Clemens V's body was lying in state a thunderstorm developed during the night and lightning struck the church where his body lay, igniting the building. The fire was so intense that when it was extinguished, the body of Pope Clement V was almost destroyed.

School shooter Salvador Rolando Ramos is shot dead by Border Patrol Tactical Unit agents after shooting and killing 19 children and 2 teachers at the age of 18 in Robb Elementary School, 715 Old Carrizo Road, Uvalde, Texas, United States. Earlier that day, Ramos shot and wounded his grandmother. He also wounded about 15 children and a police officer before being killed.
