Frank had taken a life insurance for almost one million dollars, payable to his wife, to take care of a money deal that went wrong. His body was eventually found sixteen miles away at a place called Snow's Marsh west of the Cape Fear River. An autopsy showed that he had been fatally injured by a dynamite explosion originating either in his lap or (more likely) immediately under his seat. All other 33 on board were killed as well.

Master Sergeant Max J. Beilke is born in Pipestone, Minnesota, United States. Beilke was officially the last American combat soldier to leave Vietnam in 1973. Beilke was killed in the 9/11 terror attack on the Pentagon in 2001.
