23-year-old US Air Force mechanic Paul Meyer steals a Hercules Transporter C-130 37789 aircraft and disappears above the English Channel in Royal Air Force Base, Mildenhall, Suffolk, United Kingdom. A few days later small pieces of wreckage of the Hercules, including a life raft washed up near the shores of the Channel Island of Alderney. Meyer's body was never found.
