 Prima ballerina Anna Pavlova born as Anna Pavlovna Matveyevna Pavlova dies of pleurisy at the age of 49 in Hotel Des Indes, Lange Voorhout 54-56, Den Haag, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands. Pavlova was told that she had pneumonia and required an operation, she refused to have the surgery saying "If I can't dance then I'd rather be dead." |
