Arms manufacturer Friedrich Alfred Krupp dies of a stroke at the age of 48 in Villa Hügel, Bredeney, Essen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. The official cause of death was a stroke but more probably Krupp committed suicide after the Italian Propaganda and German Vorwärts and Augsburger Postzeitung newspapers published articles revealing his homosexual escapades with young Italian boys in his 'Congrega di Fra Felice' holiday house in Capri, Italy.
