On the location where the so-called ‘Strangler of the Left Bank’ committed a murder, I was hanging upside down between four trees. To my arms and legs I tied small hatchets and I pulled a plastic bag over my head. I hung there as long as I could. The performance was inspired by an ever recurring nightmare by the ‘Strangler’, with whom I kept an intense correspondence for several years.

 251 Die in L'Innovation department store fire in L'Innovation, Rue Neuve, Brussel, Brabant, Belgium. The fire inspired Andreas Baader and Gudrun Ensslin to burn down warehouses in Germany as a protest against the war in Vietnam.
