Karen Schilt is abducted, sexually assaulted and tortured by serial killer Richard Cottingham aka The Torso Killer at the age of 22 in Ledgewood Terrace Apartments, Liberty Street, Little Ferry, New Jersey, United States.

Schilt was found in the parking lot the next day by patrolman Raymond Auger.
