The US Surveyor 2 lunar lander is launched aboard an Atlas Centaur rocket in Cape Kennedy, Cape Canaveral, Florida, United States. Two days later it crashed onto the Moon surface near Copernicus Crater. More info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surveyor_2
