When Turing's body was discovered, an apple lay half-eaten beside his bed, and although the apple was not tested for cyanide, it was speculated that this was the means by which a fatal dose was consumed. In 1952, Turing was convicted of acts of gross indecency after admitting to a sexual relationship with a man in Manchester. He was placed on probation and required to undergo hormone therapy.

 21-year-old performance artist Danny Devos aka DDV performs 'Untitled Series - 5' in Prinsenhof 03, Gent, Oost-Vlaanderen, Belgium. With a ‘Lucky Strike’ cigarette I burned the so-called ‘vital line’ in my hand several times. Afterwards I was not satisfied with the result and I cut across it with a razorblade. |
