Tabit was sentenced to death in March for abducting and sexually assaulting more than 1.500 women over a period of thirteen years. He collected 518 personal identity cards of his victims, 118 video cassettes — many of them depicting violent sexual abuses — and a computer list of his crimes.

Mary Catherine Williams is choked to death by serial killer Joel Rifkin aka The Long Island Ripper at the age of 31 in 9th Street, New York City, New York, United States.

Williams' decomposed body was discovered in a wooded area in Yorktown Heights on 21 December 1992.
