Barrow and Parker appeared in daylight in an automobile and were shot by a posse of four Texas officers, Frank Hamer, B.M. 'Manny' Gault, Bob Alcorn and Ted Hinton and two Louisiana officers, Henderson Jordan and Prentiss Morel Oakley. Barrow had 17 entrance wounds in his body.

Edward A. Hilliard and his girlfriend Deborah Griffin is abducted and strangled by serial killer Paul John Knowles aka The Casanova Killer at the age of 23 in Milledgeville, Georgia, United States.

Hilliard's body was found in nearby woods but Griffin's remains were never discovered. Knowles was not proven to have murdered them but he was under strong suspicion.
