Serial killer Peter Kürten aka The Vampire of Düsseldorf is executed by the Guillotine at the age of 48 in Klingelputz Gefängnis, Köln, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. Kürten's last words were: "Tell me, after my head has been chopped off, will I still be able to hear, at least for a moment, the sound of my own blood gushing from the stump of my neck? That would be the pleasure to end all pleasures." Kürten's mummified head is part of the Ripley's Believe It or Not! Museum collection in Wisconsin Dells.
