In this murder Heaulme was accompanied by the 19-year-old cousin of the victim Michel Guillaume, whom he had met less than an hour earlier at the fair in Metz. Guillaume was convicted of rape and complicity in the murder and sentenced to 18 years in prison.

"I will be shot with a rifle at 7:45 p.m." Burden wrote to the editors of the avant-garde publication Avalanche of his landmark performance piece. “I hope to have some good photos.”
