Dr. Didry was assisting Voronoff and noted: "The patient left Paris 12 days after his operation. I did not see him again until 8 months later. My clinical assistant and I were literally stupefied when Mr. E. L. appeared. Me had lost half his obesity, his manner was jovial, his movements active, his eyes clear and twinkling with amusement at our astonishment." On 4 September 1923 Behr died of delirium tremens.

Spree killer James Edward Pough aka Pop commits suicide by a shot through the head at the age of 42 in 7870 Baymeadows Way, Jacksonville, Florida, United States. Minutes before Pough walked into a General Motors Acceptance Corporation car loan office to buy a new car but decided to shoot 14 people, leaving 9 dead. The day before he shot and killed 30-year-old prostitute Doretta Drake and 39-year-old pimp Louis Carl Bacon.
