Chase encountered Miroth's 51-year-old friend Danny Meredith whom he shot with his .22 handgun and took his wallet and car keys. He then fatally shot Miroth, her six-year-old son Jason and her 22-month-old nephew David Ferreira before mutilating Miroth and engaging in necrophilia and cannibalism with her corpse. He then took the baby’s body home, decapitated it and ate parts of its brains before dumping it in a cardboard box.

Todd Stoops is kidnapped and held tortured by serial killer Robert Berdella aka The Kansas City Butcher at the age of 21 in 4315 Charlotte Street, Kansas City, Missouri, United States.

Stoops' torture endured prior to his death included electric shocks via a spatula placed across his eyelid in an unsuccessful attempt to blind him. Stoops died of a combination of blood loss and infection on 1 July.
