Philosopher, mathematician and astrologer Giordano Bruno born as Filippo Bruno is executed by burning at the stake at the age of 52 in Campo de' Fiori, Rome, Lazio, Italy. When the fire had died out Bruno's ashes were dumped into the Tiber river.
