I filled golden paper bags alternately with earth from my hole and ‘Yves Klein’ blue paint, and tied them to a piece of canvas. Then I hoisted the canvas up so the bags formed a figure. I hoisted myself up upside down and pulled at a rope until I was hanging at a distance away from the canvas, let go and swirled like a projectile against the canvas which made the bags tear and the earth and the paint were mixed and spattered around.

Valentina Francesca Suriani is shot dead by serial killer David Berkowitz aka Son of Sam at the age of 19 in Bronx, New York, New York, United States. Suriani's 20-year-old boyfriend Alexander Esau was also shot and died in hospital later that day. |
