 Admiral Takijirō Ōnishi aka The Father of the Kamikaze commits suicide by Seppuku at the age of 54 in Tokyo, Kantō, Japan. Ōnishi did not use a kaishakunin (second), and died of self-inflicted injuries over a period of 15 hours. |
