Amundsen's team included Norwegian pilot Leif Dietrichson, French pilot René Guilbaud, and three more Frenchmen. It is believed that the plane crashed in fog in the Barents Sea and that Amundsen and his crew were killed in the crash, or died shortly afterward.

Black meat thief Caesar Sheffield is taken from the jail at Lake Park and shot to death by unknown parties in Valdosta, Georgia, United States. Sheffield was arrested the day before, charged with stealing meat from the smoke-house of Elder A. B. Herring and put in jail to await trial. |
