 Expressionist painter Ernst Ludwig Kirchner commits suicide by a shot through the head at the age of 58 in Frauenkirch-Wildboden, Graubünden, Switzerland. Kirchner was in distress after the destruction of approximately 600 of his works by the Nazis because of 'degeneration'. |
