Fashion designer Gianni Giovanni Maria Versace is shot dead by serial killer Andrew Cunanan aka American Gigolo/American Psycho at the age of 51 in Casa Casuarina, Miami Beach, Florida, United States.

Usually Versace would have an assistant walk from his home to the coffee shop to get his morning papers but on this occasion he decided to go in person.
