However, the Paris socialite Baron de Redé wrote in his memoirs that contemporary rumor was that Dior's heart attack had been caused by a strenuous sexual encounter with two young men.

Gwen Burton is assaulted and raped with a hammer by serial killer Harvey Carignan aka The Want-Ad Killer aka Harv the Hammer at the age of 19 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States.

Burton was left for dead but survived.
